If the U.S is the destination for your higher education then this is for you! The biggest challenge that students, looking at the U.S for their higher studies, were facing in the last couple of years has been the unavailability of the Visa Slot. Now, this can be overcome using the latest policy change that the U.S. Consulate has announced.

Till now, you could apply for your Visa only 4 months (120 days) before the start of your program in the U.S. That is, if your program is starting on 15-August- 2023, you would be able to select a Visa Slot only after 15-April-2023. This was creating a problem: You receive an admit from a good university and have the I-20 (document required to book the Visa Slot) much ahead of time. But, if you are unable to secure a Visa Slot in the short window available, your entire semester is wasted as you need to plan for the next semester.

The U.S. Consulate has recognized this challenge and announced a change in the Visa Policy recently. Now, you can book the Visa Slot 12 Months (365 days) before the start of your program. This gives you, the student, two advantages.

Firstly, booking the Visa Slot is now going to be easier as you have a larger window of available appointments. So, if you already have an admit from a U.S University, get the I-20, book the Visa slot at your convenience, attend the interview and get the Visa.

Secondly, your chances of getting the Visa would be higher as you are applying early.
